George Balderson continued his fine form hitting 62 for Lancashire 2ndXI on Day1 of their Championship game against Middlesex

Having recently scored a ton for the North of England at Loughborough last week George was named in a very strong Lancashire 2ndXI to face Middlesex at Radlett CC. Amongst the Lancashire side were seven contracted players.

Middlesex batted first and despite an opening stand of 54 things changed when Balderson was introduced into the attack, removing Scott in his first over. George soon took his, and Lancashire’s second wicket trapping Simpson LBW – both players are on the staff at Middlesex.

Middlesex were all out for 242, Balderson finishing with 2-25 off his 8 overs.

Karl Brown and George opened up for the red rose, Brown the first man to go for a quick fire 18. Timperley’s Brook Guest joined Balderson at the crease and the pair added 95 for the second wicket before George was trapped LBW by the Australian leg spinner Nathan Sowter for 62.

At the close of play Lancashire finished 152-3 (Guest 54*), play with resume at 11am today.
