5 Steve White 3 11-8 9-11 11-7 11-4 1 Torri Temple-Murray

Steve White was on first against Torri Temple-Murray and registered his first win on the season winning 3-1. Playing more consistently than in previous weeks Steve’s hard hitting didn’t really let Torri take any control in the game and despite letting a handsome lead slip in the second Steve ran out a comfortable winner.
Also recording his first win, Steve Gregory beat Charlie Cowie in a tight and sometimes physical game. The early exchanges were full of interference and lets with Steve finding it difficult to find any rhythm to his game. After going 2-1 down Steve straightened his game up hit good tight lengths and took control eventually winning the fifth set 11-4.
On next was Josh Taylor against Isaac Rawcliffe. Another game that started physically and Josh making several unforced errors as he looked to be distracted by the physicality of the game. Josh eventually took the first game as he started to play safer shots pushing Isaac around the court. The game continued in this fashion with Josh running out a 3-0 winner and gave Hyde an unassailable 3-0 lead.
Julian Tomlinson continued his excellent early season form beating fellow Lancastrian Daniel Turner 3-0. As in previous weeks Julian’s speed and relentless retrieving was too much for his opponent. With Daniel running out of ideas and ways to kill a rally Julian claimed his 4th win of the season.
With Hyde now 4-0 up George Parker went on against James Earles intent on making it a clean sweep for his side. In a close and entertaining game which could have gone either way, George managed to keep control of his emotions and beat James for the 2nd time in four weeks and gave Hyde an excellent 5-0 win.

Next up for Hyde is an away trip to play Grove Park, all travelling support welcome.
