Hyde CSC Squash 1st Team 1 - 4 Bowdon 1st Team

Hyde CSC Squash 1st team's winning run came to end on Tuesday nigh with a 4-1 loss at home against Bowdon. A depleted team missing their number one and two hosted Bowdon who eventually ran out winners in a close match which on another night could have gone Hyde's way.

Hyde 1 2 3 4 5 Bowdon
1 Josh Taylor 0 7-11 7-11 5-11 3 Peter Billson
2 Steve Gregory 1 6-11 11-9 8-11 10-12 3 Oli Turner
3 Steve White 2 11-5 8-11 6-11 11-9 3-11 3 Nicholas Murrills
4 Jorden Jozefczyk 3 13-11 11-3 11-9 0 Chris Matthews
5 David Green 2 7-11 11-9 11-8 2-11 3-11 3 Richard Hall

Josh Taylor returned to Hyde's team after missing the previous week's fixture due to injury. He was up against the consistent Peter Billson whose class shone through and aided with some unforced errors from Josh was too strong. Josh losing 3-0.

Jordan Jozefczyk was on next against Chris Matthews looking to reverse the result from a couple of weeks earlier when the two met playing for their respective club's second teams. Jordan played some of his best squash in recent times and was error free in running Chris all over the court and he deservedly won a classy 3-0.

Steve Gregory and Dave Green were then on against Oli Turner and young Richard Hall. At first Oli looked like he would just be simply too quick for Steve but after the first game a change in tactics from Steve saw him play some intelligent squash and plenty of winners bringing him back in to it, unfortunately it wasn't quite enough and Oli game out top winning 3-1.

Mean while Dave was going to five sets with 14 year old Richard Hall. Dave had chances to win the match, and letting a 5-2 lead in the first turned out to be pivotal with Richards fitness taking him through to win a very close game 3-2.

Steve White was on last against Nick Murrills in what was the closest and most entertaining game of the night. Steve set of quickly in the first and his early vollying was too much for Nick. Steve struggled to keep the pace up though and Nick tightened up and took control of the match winning the next two and taking a 2-1 lead. Steve fought back to make it 2-2 but couldn't quite keeping it going and eventually lost 3-2.

Despite the loss Hyde will be reasonably satisfied with the 8 points gained from the match.

::Next week they travel to Alderley Edge, games starting at 7:30pm. All travelling support will be welcome
