David Lloyd Chorley 1st Team 1 - 4 Hyde CSC Squash 1st Team

Hyde proved to be too strong for the current league champions on Tuesday night as they beat David LLoyd Chorley 4-1.

David LLoyd Chorley 1 1 2 3 4 5 Hyde CSC Squash 1
1 James Earles 9-11 9-11 9-11 George Parker
2 Daniel Turner 6-11 6-11 4-11 Julian Tomlinson
3 Isaac Rawcliffe 6-11 7-11 4-11 Joshua Taylor
4 Charlie Cowie 11-5 7-11 11-9 11-6 Steve White
5 David Abberley 5-11 5-11 5-11 Carlton Oldham

The night started with some kind words and a minutes silence for Tony Parker, a world renowned referee from Hyde who sadly passed away on Friday.

Carlton Oldham was on first for Hyde against David Abberley. Carlton is yet to lose for Hyde's 1st team this season and he was keen to keep the run going. His control of line and length and skill at the front of the court showed just why he has such a good record and he comfortably kept his undefeated run going with an easy 3-0 win.

The number 3 strings were on next which saw Hyde's Josh Taylor take on Isaac Rawcliffe. This match in the first half of the season was physical one which resulted in Josh braking a rib, but this time the match was much cleaner with Josh in full control troughout, winning 3-0.

Looking to win the match early for Hyde, Julian Tomlinson went on next against his Lancashire team mate Daniel Turner. Julian was too strong for Daniel who labored throughout. Julian winning 3-0 in one of his easier matches of the season and putting Hyde in an unassailable 3-0 lead.

Next on court for Hyde was George Parker, fresh from winning the national under 21s championship the previous winning. He was playing the consistent James Earles. George played well within himself and did just enough to make sure that he took each game,, so winning 3-0 giving Hyde a 4-0 lead.

On last were the number 4 strings, Hyde's Steve White and Chorley's Charlie Cowie. A sluggish performance in the main from Steve saw Charlie clinch a consolation game for Chorley, meaning the result was a good 4-1 win for Hyde.

Hyde's next game is on Tuesday next week against Grove Park, games starting at 7:30pm. All support is welcome.
