Dear Members,
I am delighted to announce to you all that our very own George Balderson has been chosen to be England's official Twelfth Man at today's Old Trafford test match.
George is honoured to receive the call up, and, as well as being the drinks carrier and general dressing room helper, he has the enticing prospect of a possible active involvement in the Ashes contest itself.
Remember Gary Pratt running out Ricky Ponting in the 2005 Ashes...?
Should George be asked to take the field as substitute fielder, he too could be in a position to make a real difference.
No pressure then George...
Seriously, we are all proud of George, following on from his selection to captain England under 19's earlier this summer; his first professional contract with Lancashire CCC; and, of course, his continued excellence for Hyde in the Cheshire County League.
2019 has truly been a year to remember for the young all rounder.
Good luck George from everybody at Hyde CSC, enjoy the experience.
We'll be watching...
John Buckley
