We are pleased to finally announce that Bailey Wightman has joined Hyde CC for the 2018 season.

Who is Bailey Wightman?

DOB: 16/06/1999
Birth Place: Warwick, England
Height: 196cm (6ft 5)
Right Arm Fast
Cricketing Hero: Morne Morkal
Supports: Aston Villa

Bailey, who moved to Australia in 2008 with his parents represents Adelaide University CC, in the South Australian West End Premier League.

Wightman has come recommended by former Australian bowler Jason Gillespie having recently been involved in his bowling academy, based in Adelaide.

Speaking to the club website Wightman said "I've heard great things about Hyde CC. Hyde are clearly a club looking to play at the highest possible level to which I aspire to be part of. I'm really looking forward to returning to England and playing in different conditions."

The club made the approach for Bailey after complications with the Brenton Loudon deal. After a discussion with CricX, ECB and Home Office the club committee decided it wasn't possible to place Loudon as our overseas player for the 2018 season. We'd like to wish Brenton all the best for the future.
Due to Wightman being a British passport holder a visa isnt required, therefore he will be available for all competitions.

Bailey will link up with the squad in early April ahead of the pre season friendly with Netherfield.
