KNOWLES LEADS THE WAY WITH HIS 1ST 5 WICKET HAUL
Matty Knowles once again led the way with what could only be described a perfect bowling display, his accuracy, pace and determination led us to our 7th win on the bounce. Matty ended up with 5 -13 runs from 7 overs. Matty’s display was set up nicely with some excellent bowling from Josh Edwards who turned in with figures of 3-11 from 7 overs, Neil Koehler 1-9 from 7 overs & Martin Coyne1-7 from 5 overs.
On yet another wet, uncut & un- rolled track at Stockport our batters had a torrid time, however the pick of the bunch was Man of the match Matty Knowles who finished on 33 and Nial Curran who finished on 31. These 2 batting display’s rescued the batting and gave us something defend. Unfortunately Nial could not return to the field of play for the 2nd innings as he hurt his hip whilst batting, Queue Father & Son in the field. Yes 17years on from his last match Matty Hewitt donned his whites to replace Nial. This was music to Charlie’s ears who said “if he even steps on the wrong blade of grass he’s getting it”. Matt looked like he’d never been away with a good fielding display, all I can say is watch this space.
Focus is definitely on now for the remaining fixtures as we have a really good chance of catching league leaders Didsbury who we play this weekend at home 1pm start, get yourself up to the low to support the boy’s on our quest for the double.
