After Hyde’s 137 run home win against Oxton a fortnight ago when the 1st XI confirmed their place in this season’s Cheshire Cup Final it was confirmed following a coin toss that they would host the prestigious fixture. Their opponents will be Bollington who had already secured their place in the final the week before with a 7 wicket victory over Wallasey.

Bollington currently sit on top of the 1st Division with a 9 point lead above Widnes with 2 games to go and have already secured promotion to next season’s Premier division. This will be their first Cheshire Cup Final appearance.

The two teams have already met this season in the quarter final of the T20 cup competition. Hyde were the victors by 20 runs that day in a high scoring match that could have gone either way. Hopefully we will see an equally entertaining game on Sunday.

Car parking at Werneth Low will be very limited due to a previously booked function taking place in the clubhouse. We would therefore encourage all spectators to make alternative arrangements if possible. On-site catering & refreshments will be available on the day for spectators along with a DJ entertaining the crowd during the match.

This season’s Premier League also has 2 rounds of fixtures to go and is set for an exciting run in with 5 teams still in with a chance of lifting the title. Nantwich lead the table with 331 points and 5th place Lindow are 20 points behind on 311.

Hyde lost by 4 wickets at Cheadle last weekend in a rain affected game which was the only match in the top division to take place resulting in those affected teams gaining 6 points each. Despite Cheadle taking the 20 points following their win the 5 points Hyde secured meant they remained in second place on games won with both teams now standing on 325 points. Didsbury are the other contenders in the title race on 317 points.

Saturday will see the final home league fixture for Hyde with Oxton the visitors where a win will guarantee that they retain the chance of lifting the title when they travel to Alderley Edge the following week. Lindow host Cheadle this Saturday and then on the final day Nantwich travel to Cheadle so there remains much to play for.
