Hyde arrive in outstanding form
Hyde head into the final with confidence high following an excellent season for the 1st XI.
The side currently sit second in the ECB Premier League, with a 2026 record of 15 wins, one draw and just three defeats from 19 matches. Their consistency has been one of the defining features of their campaign.
The batting has repeatedly delivered when it matters, while the team’s depth and ability to chase down challenging totals have been key features of their season.
There have been some outstanding performances in the Cheshire Cup campaign this season:
Hyde's route to the Cheshire Cup Final has seen them overcome a series of tough opponents:
Round 1 — Bye
Round 2 — Stockport Georgians: Hyde progressed with an impressive 35-run DLS victory, putting their cup campaign firmly on track.
Round 3 — Birkenhead Park- Hyde produced another strong performance, defending 181 to bowl out Birkenhead Park for 121.
Quarter-final — Marple:Hyde won a dramatic local derby away at Marple to book their place in the semi-final.
Semi-final — Oxton:Hyde then overcame Oxton by scoring a huge 312 and dismissing the visitors for 175 on Werneth Low to secure their place in the Cheshire Cup Final.
The last time Hyde won this trophy was in 2023 on another memorable day at the club.
Bollington arrive with momentum too, they have enjoyed an excellent cup run of their own and enter the final with plenty of confidence.
Their semi-final victory over Wallasey was particularly impressive, with Bollington recording a seven-wicket win to earn their place in the final. They have also been among the leading sides in Division One this season and are pushing strongly towards promotion to the Premier Division.
The final therefore brings together two clubs enjoying strong campaigns and two sides who have earned their place in this prestigious competition.
It's a final for the whole community......
While the focus will be on the cricket, Hyde Cricket & Squash Club is encouraging supporters to make a full day of the occasion.
With hot food, ice cream and desserts available, the club is aiming to create a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere around one of the biggest matches of the local cricket season.
The message from Hyde is simple: come along enjoy the atmosphere, support the teams and make a day of it.
