With the season set to start on 18th April, Hyde Cricket and Squash Club is calling on members of all ages—players, parents, supporters, and community volunteers—to lend a hand on Groundforce Day to help get the ground ready for the summer ahead.
A strong turnout will help ensure the facilities are fully prepared and ready for competitive action.
A number of essential jobs will be carried out throughout the day, including:
- Tidying the driveway and car park
- Painting and general maintenance
- Power washing patio area
- Fitting tarpaulin sheets onto the cover frames
- Preparing the sight screens
- Strimming grassed areas
- Clearing branches and rubbish
- Sweeping and preparing areas around the ground
Groundforce Day has become an important community event for the club, bringing members together while helping maintain the facilities used by players and visitors throughout the summer season.
The club is encouraging everyone to get involved, even if they can only spare a short amount of time.
“Many hands make light work. Even an hour of help makes a big difference.”
Free refreshments will be provided for all volunteers attending on the day.
