The partnership is part of the club’s new advertising programme, which aims to build stronger relationships with local businesses while providing partners with valuable exposure to the club’s growing match-day and online audiences.

Alongside prominent pitch-side branding, advertising partners can benefit from exposure through match-day features, the club’s YouTube live match streams and social media channels, helping local businesses connect with the Hyde Cricket & Squash Club community both at the ground and online.

The Village Nursery and Preschool and The Village Out of School Club

The Village Nursery and Preschool was established in 2012 and opened its doors to families in 2013. An independent, family-run setting, it was founded by a husband-and-wife team with young children of their own, inspired to create the kind of nurturing, high-quality childcare they would choose for their own family.

Since then, we have grown to become a trusted childcare provider at the heart of the Gee Cross and Hyde community, while remaining proudly independent and family-run.

Together, The Village Nursery and Preschool and The Village Out of School Club provide care for local children from their earliest years right through to the end of their primary school journey.

At the heart of our approach is a belief that children should feel happy, secure and valued, with plenty of opportunities to play, explore, learn and grow. We place a strong emphasis on nurturing relationships, active play, independence and providing children with rich and varied experiences.

The Village Nursery and Preschool
Our nursery and preschool is open Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 6.00pm, all year round and offers government-funded childcare places for eligible families.

Children enjoy healthy, home-cooked meals freshly prepared on site by our full-time chef, with breakfast, snacks, lunch and tea included. We have achieved a Nutrition and Oral Health Award, and both of our settings consistently maintain 5-star Food Hygiene Ratings.

Outdoor play is an important part of everyday life at the nursery. With a range of outdoor spaces surrounding the setting, children of all ages have regular opportunities to enjoy fresh air, physical play, exploration and learning outdoors throughout the year. Children also enjoy regular walks and outings within the local community, helping them develop a sense of belonging and connection to the area in which they are growing up.

The Village Nursery and Preschool is Ofsted rated Good, with inspectors describing children as “happy and confident” and “independent and confident learners”, while noting that “parents speak incredibly highly of the nursery and staff.”

This is echoed in our recent parent feedback. One family whose child left us to begin school in 2026 described the “care, encouragement, patience and kindness” of our team as “exceptional”, saying their child had grown into a “confident, curious, kind and happy little boy.”

We are particularly proud that many families return to us with younger siblings, allowing us to build relationships with whole families over many years. Much of our new business also comes through recommendations from existing and previous families, something we see as one of the greatest endorsements of the care our team provides.

The Village Out of School Club
Our Out of School Club provides breakfast and after-school care from 7.30am to 6.00pm during term time. We take children to school in the morning and collect them at the end of the school day, with breakfast and snacks included.

During the school holidays, our Holiday Club runs from 8.30am to 5.30pm, with all meals included. Children enjoy a varied programme of sports, outdoor challenges, creative activities, cooking, games, trips and themed days, giving them opportunities to be active, make friends, try new things and enjoy their school holidays.

With the club located close to Werneth Low, we make the most of our local surroundings, giving children opportunities to get outdoors, explore and be active as part of their time with us.

We are proud to provide free HAF-funded Holiday Club places for eligible children and families through the Holiday Activities and Food programme.

Our latest Ofsted inspection found that the club met the requirements of the Childcare Register, describing a “welcoming and friendly environment” and recognising children’s positive relationships with staff, growing independence and opportunities to enjoy experiences within their local community.

Growing Up With Us
For more than a decade, we have had the privilege of seeing children grow from their earliest days at nursery and preschool to starting school and continuing their journey with our Out of School Club.

For some families, our relationship spans many years, meaning we have the privilege of being part of their family’s childcare journey from babyhood right through to the end of primary school.
